The other thing you can do is to research hot products on your own. And here, we will show you insane hacks that will let you search for winning products from many sources.
Insane Hack #1: eBay
eBay is one of the oldest and biggest online marketplaces. The trick here is to find out what people are watching.
The reason being is that eBay sales are not direct. The platform uses bidding or an auction method.
Customers watch a product to see how far or how high the bidding has already gone. If they think they can still win, they will put in their bids.
The number of people who watch a particular product tells you how many people are interested in. You cannot see the watch count on eBay, but you can use WatchCount.com to do this for you.
Here are the steps to follow:
- Go to watchcount.com
- Click on Most Watched 2.0 at the bottom left area
- At the bottom of this page, select your country, then select category at the top, then type the keyword
- Click Show Me
The site will show you a list of the most watched products on eBay in the country you selected. What you can see are the number of watchers, the bid or current ask price, and whether the shipping is free or paid.
Armed with this information, you can research products in your niche and then look for suppliers so you can sell it in your Shopify store.
Insane Hack #2: Amazon
On Amazon, you can find the bestselling products if you only head over to the bestselling page. Here, you will see a lot of products from different categories.
To get there, you must be logged in to your Amazon account. If not, just type Amazon bestsellers on Google, and you will find a direct link to that page.
On the bestsellers page, you will see on the left-hand section the different categories like electronics, appliances, toys, and so much more.
The hottest products will show you the number of reviews for them, and do not be surprised to find a product that has more than 3,000 reviews.
Take the time to find a product that belongs to your niche. If we take toys as an example, one of the hottest products right now is Jenga.
If you click on that, you will see the Jenga products in Amazon, and then you can filter them by prices.
You can use this information to find a Jenga supplier and then sell it in your online store for a competitive price.
Insane Hack #3: AliExpress
AliExpress is the most popular source of products for dropshippers. There are millions of products here, and it is a little difficult to decide which ones to sell.
The trick is to go to this link:
Once you are there, you will see the weekly best offers on sale. In here, you can browse per niche, and if you click on the products, you see the details like the price, the number of orders, and so much more.
The other method is to go to the Weekly Bestselling Page. You just need to click on the link, or go to this link to access it directly:
Like the other page, you will see the top products on this page. However, this list is updated weekly, so the top selling items last week may not be the same this week.
If you use this approach, you need to constantly watch the page to see what products are trending, and then sell those products on your site for as long as there is a demand.
Insane Hack #4: Instagram
Instagram is not just a social media channel; it is also a place where people sell their products. And if you know how to search, you can find golden nuggets of information here.
For example, you can type #wristwatch on the search bar. Instagram will show you some hashtags, and you need to choose one. Select the one that has the highest post count.
In the example below, you can see that there are 2,336,047 posts for this hashtag. What this tells you is that there are many people interested in this product.
If you hover your mouse on the first photo, you will see that it has 1,302 likes and then 20 messages.
If you click that photo, you will find comments about the product. Here, you will see that the name of the watch is Speedmaster Pro.
The next thing to do is to head over to your supplier and find this wristwatch, then sell it in your online store.
Once you have posted the product, you can start marketing it on Instagram, too, and use the same hashtag so your product will show to anyone who is looking for a wristwatch.
You can also add the hashtag #speedmasterpro to make your product easier to find.
Insane Hack #5: Pinterest
Pinterest is a social media channel where people post photos of the things that interest them. It has eventually become a place where people can also sell their products.
Because it has millions of users, you can use this site to track hot products and get ideas about what items are on demand.
To do this, type the name of the product in the search bar. Once you hit Enter, you will see the top pins in the search results. What you need to do is to click on each product, and then find out how many re-pins each photo has.
There is not a shortcut to doing this. Unlike other social media sites, Pinterest does not show a summary of the photo’s performance.
In the screenshot below, you will see that it has 49 re-pins. If you can find products that have higher re-post count, then it means that more people are interested in that product.
The next step is to find this specific wristwatch from your supplier, and then add the product to your online store.
While it is true that this method can take a little while, it is very effective because you know how many people have expressed interest in the product. If the photo you found happened to belong to an online store, just click the picture and you will be taken to the seller’s website.
From there, you can find more information about it, like feedback and sales count.
Insane Hack #6: Google Trends
Google trends is a keyword research tool. It shows you the interest level of people from around the world about a keyword.
The rating system is only from 0 to 100, and 100 means there is so much interest in the keyword. The basis of this number is from the search engine of Google. If there are millions of people typing the keyword “wristwatch” in Google, it will receive a rating of 100.
The beauty of this tool is that you can filter your search by country and by the length of time. To begin your search, go to https://trends.google.com/trends/?geo=US.
Type the keyword you want to search, then press on the search icon. This is the small magnifying glass on the right side of the search box.
As you can on the screenshot below, the wristwatch has lower than 75 as a rating recently. This means that the interest is trending down.
This does not automatically mean that you should not sell this item. What you need to do is to dig deeper. Change the filters at the top of the page. Filter by country and by time, and you may find some golden nugget of information in there.
It may not trend well in the US, but it can be trending upwards in another country. If so, you can sell that specific product in that country.
At the bottom of the search results, you can also see important information like the areas where the highest interest is, related inquiries that people use on Google search, and other keywords that you can try researching.
Insane Hack #7: Facebook
Facebook is undoubtedly the king of social media. A lot of online sellers post their products on Facebook, but did you know that you can use this site to find winning and hot products?
First, go to your Facebook page and type the product keyword in the search box. Hit the search button, and Facebook will show you the most relevant results.
The first thing you will see are Groups, but you do not need this. Scroll down a little bit and search for the Marketplace section. You can also do this by clicking on Marketplace at the top.
Here, you will see the top trending products, their prices, and where they are being sold.
The other way to go is to click on Videos. Once you do, you will see the trending wristwatch videos on Facebook. In this screenshot, you can see that it has 1,299,004 views.
What does this mean?
It only means one thing: people are interested in the Braille Wristwatch. Watch the video yourself, and then scroll down to the comments section to find out what people are talking about.
Next, find that kind of wristwatch from your supplier and sell it on your online store.
Insane Hack #8: Shopify Apps
Shopify is a great platform for online sellers. But did you know that you can spy on other Shopify online stores?
The first thing you need to do is to go to the Shopify App Store. From there, you need to look for an app that has thousands of reviews.
Why is this important? It is important because the people who left reviews on these apps are Shopify store owners. And what you are looking for are stores that left feedback on the app, particularly the app that is meant to boost sales.
In the screenshot below, we can take a look at Printful: print on Demand. It has 2348 reviews with a rating of 4.6.
If we click that and if we visit the review section, we will find the names of the stores that left a review. In this example, we want to look at Top Gear Shoppe.
The next step is to go to Google and search for Top Gear Shoppe. Once you get to the store’s website, you need to add this in the website’s URL:
Hit the Enter button, and the store will only show the best-selling products on that store!
Insane Hack #9: BuzzSumo
BuzzSumo is a website where you can find the most shared social media posts. The site is mainly used to analyze what is going on in the internet space, and you can use the results to create content for your website to get traffic.
To use it, just type a keyword in the search bar. In this example, we will use the word “wristwatch”. Once the tool is finished searching, you will see a lot of results related to the keyword.
These results can be article, videos, or images. On the right-hand side, you will see the number of shares the keyword has on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and other social media sites.
The trick here is to be specific on your keywords so you can get a targeted set of results.
In this example, the top shares on FB is a news article about a celebrity with a million-dollar worth of wristwatch. What you can do is to check that out, and then find a product similar to that.
Once you do, you can post that on your store and then use keywords similar to the post from BuzzSumo. In this example, you can name your product Cristiano Ronaldo Wristwatch.
Insane Hack #10: Oberlo
Oberlo is an app that is dedicated to Shopify. However, you can still be a member of the Oberlo community and use its functions to your advantage.
Oberlo is a tool that lets you search for verified suppliers and products in AliExpress. The app is used to import the products automatically in Oberlo, and then toggle the settings so the prices will increase and decrease as they also do in AliExpress.
The first thing you can do with Oberlo is to download its eBook. Every year, it publishes an eBook that lists the top products that you can sell. These recommendations are based on their own studies.
The second method is to log-in to your Oberlo account and starts browsing. Lately, the company released a great tool to see if the product you are looking at is a best-seller. There was a time when you could only see whether the product was verified or not.
Now, the site shows the number of times it was imported to an online store, the number of page views from all these stores, and the number of total orders.
These details can tell you if a product is worth selling. If an item has a lot of units sold, then it just means it is on demand, and you can start selling that product on your store, too.

This is a site that is called a product curation site. The people behind this group know the trending products, and they specialize in e-commerce.
And since they have a group of people who are experts in online marketing, they know which products are hot and which ones are not.
To use the services, you need to be a member first. Ecomhunt is dedicated to finding the winning products, and they also show a number of information that you can use to make a wise decision on your product selection.
As you search for products, you will see information about product’s Facebook ads and how they look like, the profits made from it, how people in the online world are engaging, and other analytics.
The site will also provide you with links where the product is found, and you can use this information to compare your store with others who are selling the same product.
You can check you’re their prices, their promotions, and make a better offer so you can attract more customers.
Insane Hack #12: Trend Hunter
Trend Hunter is like eComhunt. It is a site where you can find a list of products that are trending in many niches. Here, you can find products for jewelry, fashion, sports, and speciality items.
The first thing you can do is to read the lists of the site. There are hundreds of articles here that show top products that are trending in different categories.
Each product on the list has an explanation. These products have a score between 1 and 10, with ten being the highest.
If you look at the stats section, you will also see how many clicks the article received, the people it is intended for, the length of time it takes for people read the product, and which countries they are most popular.
The other method is to become a member. It is free, and you can access more features like getting insights about ads, consumer insights, and guidance on how to use the site to look for business opportunities.
The site does not only find trends about products to sell, but also social events like charity, fashion events, presentations, and workshops.
Insane Hack #13: Niche Scraper
Niche Scraper is a spying tool for online sellers. You need to be a member to be able to use the site. It is free, but there are also paid plans that can give you more powerful tools.
Here, you just need to type the product type, and then the site will show you results that include trends, prices, and growth percentage.
In this screenshot, you can click on the first product to find out more about it. However, the product picture link will only take you to AliExpress.
What you can do is just to check who the seller is, the seller’s rating, shipping times, and then make sure that the product has a return policy.
The site also has the following services:
- Store Analysis – here, you can enter the name of a Shopify store and then it will show you how it is performing. It will show the best-performing products, the prices, the store’s online traffic, and its revenue.
- Video Ads Maker – this one allows you to make videos that you can use for your ads. This is for members only, and you can do this by uploading images and then changing the texts for the ads.
Insane Hack #14: SaleHoo
SaleHoo is a dropshipping system where you can find wholesalers online. Here, you can also find retailers who will ship your products to your customers.
To fully benefit from SaleHoo’s features, you need to be a member. The cost of the membership is $67 per month. Once you become a member, you can use the site’s Market Research tool.
Here, you will have access to more than one million products that SaleHoo is tracking. All you need to do is to type the keyword, and it will show you the product’s recommended price, the price you will pay to SaleHoo, and the profit you are likely to make.

- Volume – the number of keywords found
- Traffic Potential – the potential number of people who can go to your website because of this keyword
- Clicks – the number of clicks that this keyword has generated
AHREFS has other services like backlink research, and site explorer, which is used to check the strength of a website. It also provides you with a log of guides on how to find the best ranking keywords.
If you know which keywords rank the most, you can use that keyword to find a specific product because you know people are looking for it.
Insane Hack #17: Jungle Scout
Jungle Scout is a selling system that is focused on Amazon. However, you can use its features to find hot products that you can sell on your own store.
In this app, you can find suppliers, products, effective keywords, and product tracers.
The great thing about the system is that it tells you the total shipments made for that product, the average price it is sold for, and the revenue for the product.
