Nothing is more frustrating to a buyer than to buy a pair of shorts and realize it is too tight or too loose. If you are the seller, this can result in negative feedback, refunds, and loss of revenue. This normally happens to dropshippers who get their products from China.
The solution is to have a table of sizes that can guide the consumers no matter where they are. What you have to do is to put a men’s short size conversion table from China to international sizes. This is what I will be helping you with today.
Why is a table conversion of men’s short sizes important?
The most important reason for doing this is customer experience. If you are a seller of clothing and shoes, you must take into account that some of your buyers are not necessarily Asians. They could be Americans or British.
If the size they chose is something they believe to be correct, and even if you sent the right one, the pair of shorts may still not fit properly. This is because sizes in China have different measurements from the West. A big size in China may be the equivalent of “small” in the US or the UK.
If this happens, your customer is going to complain. He will either ask for a replacement or a refund. Can you just imagine the hassle that both of you have to go through? You do not want this to happen, and the best method to prevent this from happening is to have size transparency.
Men’s Shorts Sizes: Convert China To USA/UK and International Sizing
Here is the table that I am talking about.
CHINA | INTERNATIONAL (WAIST) | INTERNATIONAL (LENGTH) |
42 | 68-72 cm | 99 cm |
44 | 71-76 cm | 101.5 cm |
46 | 75-80 cm | 104 cm |
48 | 79-84 cm | 106.5 cm |
50 | 83-88 cm | 109 cm |
As you can see, there is only one sizing for international sizes for shorts. The way to use it is simple. If your customer is from the UK, then he has to choose a size under the international column.
Once he places an order, you will order the China equivalent of that size. This way, the customer will not get confused. He will order the product in the same way he orders from his own country. You, however, will be responsible for converting this as you order the product from your supplier.
My recommendation is that you put this on every product page where you sell shorts. I also have other tables about shoes for men and women, and also clothing sizes that you can use for conversion.
What you can do is to take a screenshot of the conversion table, and then you simply paste that photo every time you upload a new product or upload a product description.
Summary
This table is free to use. Put it on your product pages, and make sure that you provide instruction. If you do not want to put it on every product page, what I can recommend is that you create a separate web page that contains all your conversion tables. Then, just put a link in all product pages to re-direct the customer to that conversion table.
The problem with his approach, however, is that you are taking your customer away from the product page. If you do this, the customer may change his mind. It is better to take a screenshot and just load it for every pair of shorts that you sell.
Do this now and do the same for other apparel and clothing. It will prevent mistakes in the order process, and you will end up with happy customers who will be making repeat purchases. You will be able to avoid negative feedback and refunds.
